Gone are those days when you use ordinary cell phones. When we look back the history of cell phone we all know the features of those phone are far different from what we see in the market today; we have higher phone with more capability and features as the result of advancement in technology.
If we are to say anything about a Smart Phone, we should be talking about any mobile device that have more than Call and SMS capability. A smartphone is a mobile phone built on a mobile computing platform, with more advanced computing ability and connectivity than a feature phone.

Smart phone falls in the range of phones that have the capability of Internet connectivity (and any means of data transmission), multimedia, and telephone installed on them that make them more or less a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant: a mobile device that functions as a personal information manager). In those days only mobile phone and PDA exist, so the Smart Phone has a combined feature/capability of the PDA and a mobile phone.

This time around you can almost can't differentiate a Smart Phone from a PDA device if you are not the type that know much about mobile device, just because most Smart Phone are just taking the shape of PDAs only that PDAs are big in size and weigh much, Smart Phones are big although but are fairly thicker and weigh less that a PDA device.
