Am about to explain to you what a native app or application is and if this is what you are looking for, just sit back and relax while I tell you abut it "bit and pieces".
When you talk about or refer to an application as a native app it means you are talking about an application that is primarily meant for a specific device, platform or electronic.
Examples
1--> Facebook app on your phone Vs Facebook page opened in browser. You will simple understand that the Facebook app on your phone is native and the one on your browser is not (I wouldn't call it foreign... I don't know).
2 --> Wanting to run an Android application on your PC (which has a non android OS), because your PC does not run on Android OS, its impossible to operate such app without a third party program (a Android Emulator) simply because Android applications/apps are not native to your PC.
What's so special about native app is that they tend to run faster or they are more effective than the non-native ones. Thus, it 'll take more seconds (time) to navigate through your Facebook,Twitter or whatever site via a web browser (Mobile browser) than it will take when you access them via apps.
OK... Hope this get things clear.
