Fix: Computer Restarts On Its Own

It’s quite an irritating experience. Your computer keeps restarting itself without any prompt; normally occurs at the middle of something.

One among these (or all of the) reasons may be the problem and should be considered

1. Lack of system maintenance: any computer, no matter how big or small, needs some kind of maintenance this involves checking on the system interior (the system unit). Some people disregard the internal (hardware) part of their computer. At times dust my accumulate inside of the CPU to the extent that the cooling device (fan) will not be serving any purpose  simply because they are being restricted by dirt this will lead to regular system restart.

Advice: thoroughly blow the internal part of the computer with an electric blower.

2. Bad cooling system: bad heat sink will definitely lead to overheating of the microprocessor (Overheating occurs due to improper ventilation). In such scenario the internal fan may need some attention. In order to confirm this as the problem open your system unit (make sure the fan is visible) then power on the computer and wait for some time (checking on the reaction of the fan) this situation becomes true if the fan stop rotating while the computer is still on.

Advice: replacement of the system fan should be considered.

3. Malicious activity: some programs in your computer may be causing System Restart; these programs involve the computer virus and other infectious programs or software.

Advice: a strong anti-virus will be needed for a full system scan.

I will consider the above three troubleshooting as a first level troubleshooting. Most frequent system restarts I have experienced are based on one or two in the above problems, if the above three prove aborted consider complete system replacement.
