You should never shutdown your system manually(pressing down the power button), this may lead to system failure loading windows. though I did not shut down mine by pressing down my power button, it was a power failure, the light went off and my UPS could not hold for some minutes. The next moment I powered on my computer, it load quite alright, but everything hanged up on the first menu display (the start menu) the only thing I got working was my cursor; every other thing got frizzed. Waited patiently but it seems like wasting of time because I got a lot to do online.
What I got in my head was how to recover my window with all my files unharmed, and i got the solution, thanks for windows they provided a more easier way of system repair i.e. refresh. With refresh option all and any file saved on your system (on any part or location of your windows directory: Document, Desktop etc.) will remain unharmed but any other installed application(Microsoft Office Program Suite, Mozila Firefox, etc.) will be erased (uninstalled). All you will got to do after Refresh is to install back those program as they are deeded.
