How To Jailbreak iPhone 3G/3GS 4xx iOS

Jailbreaking an iPhone will unlock it for more functionality like installing third party applications, doing this will breach the terms and conditions between you and apple i.e. you will not be attended to by apple incase of any fault that may arise.

To jail break an iPhone there are lots of tools to help you do just that here I will be talking about redsnow developed by Dev-Team this jailbreak tool is an easy to use type as you will not be required to do more than you can.


Requirement:
  1. Redsnow 
  2. Working computer 
Download  redsn0w 0.9.14b1 (Windows — run in Administrator Mode) or redsn0w 0.9.14b1 (For Mac OS X)
Download your Firmware Version (iOS) and Follow the steps bellow to finish jailbreak
  1. Unzip redsn0w 0.9.14b1 and open the folder then double-click on redsnow file to open 
  2. In the redsnow environment click on Extras then click Select IPSW then point it to the downloaded firmware, just click OK for the windows prompt
  3. Click Back then click Jailbreak prior to this you will have to OFF your iPhone, connect it to the computer then put it on DFU mode by pressing down the Sleep/wake and Home button at the same time for 10 seconds (apple logo will appear and disappear at this process) then release only the Sleep/Wake button still holding down the Home button for about 8 seconds
  4. Redsnow will automatically start processing which will take you to the other phase where you will tick some check boxes; select Cydia then click next to complete this section 
  5. Redsnow will keep copying files all you have to do in this section is to watch as the process goes after which the next section will continue on your device (though redsnow will notify you on your computer for the switch over) at this point instead of apple logo you will see pineapple just for jaibreaking your device, will keep reading data like in another Matrix movie 
Step 5 does not require any of your action but your attention may be required should in case the process get stuck at a point.

When you are done with the jailbreak I will advice you to launch your iTunes for synchronization so that you wont miss your contacts and other valuable data.

Note: Your computer should be offline, logging to administrator account, close any running application/program during jailbreak to avoid error


If you are using an iPhone tide to a specific carrier network you may have two options
  1. You will be required to insert a valid SIM to unlock (because you cant do anything rather than making an emergency call) though your iPhone may still be showing the Connect To iTunes sign which means if you insert the correct SIM and connect to iTunes with you computer connected to internet your iPhone will be fully unlocked.
