Important Facebook Security Settings

Facebook is where you get connected with friends and business partners to share information and have fun, but at the same time Facebook is can be used as a great tool to pull you down, I mean wrack something out of your life though it depends on how loose your security is.

It is your right to choose the set of people or in short, people who sees your Facebook Status Update if you don't know this, it's a security loop hole that people do use to get other people information.

The image bellow is my public update, anything I post in my status update goes directly to the public(this is a default setting) that is why anyone that type keyword related to the one I put in My status update is likely going to get Me in his/her search result no matter who the person is and his/her location.
It is advised to control who see what information you post to your status update by selecting your audience.

Tips:
  • Public: Your status update goes to the public(anyone on Facebook sees what you post)
  • Friends: Your status update is only viewed by you friends and no one else.
  • Only Me: Your status update is viewed by you and you alone.
  • Custom: Your status update will be seen by those people you choose.
